Hustle is not a strategy.

Don’t buy into the start-up culture that prescribes hustle as the solution for everything. Hustle is merely effort put forth at higher than usual intensity. Some of us have higher baseline intensity of both energy and focus than others, so their ‘normal’ might seem like ‘hustle’ to others.

Let me make it perfectly clear; hustle IS an important and contributing factor that separates the top of any field or industry. But it is not a magical elixir that can be applied universally. In fact, it can be applied in bad ways.

Business is an infinite game that can neither be won nor lost (deals within business are different story altogether), so merely adding more effort won’t necessarily make a big difference. We need a strategy to understand the situations, direction, and duration of the energy we invest.

We establish goals as a target of what we want to achieve.

Tactics are all the individual systems, processes, recipes, tricks, and technologies used to achieve our goals.

Strategy is how we overlay and interconnect the timing of tactics and available resources to maximize our strengths, and minimize the impact of our weaknesses.

With a naturally-gifted mind for strategy and 20+ years of helping clients develop and implement theirs; I absolutely LOVE this work and am happy to discuss opportunities to collaborate with you. Feel free to reach out!
